For those of you who will not be living in Thailand under this kind of visa, you will have to apply to get a work permit, which will then allow you to open a checking account.

Learning Thai is something you should definitely consider if you are planning on living in Thailand. Business of most sorts are done in English, but it helps to have a basic understanding of Thai to have a better experience in this exotic country. It will also allow you to immerse yourself much more in the Thai culture than you could only speaking English. You can begin learning Thai by hiring a native speaker as a tutor, or by attending classes at a local school.
